FAQ's

I'm not very familiar with altars and I've never made one before. Is this workshop for total beginners like me? The fact that you are here reading this is a big YES! This workshop is for beginners and seasoned altar makers alike. There are no prerequisites other than an open and curious mind and a desire to exercise your intuitive and creative muscles.

Is this workshop affiliated with a particular religion?

No. While many religions from Christianity to Buddhism to Wicca incorporate altars in their practices, this workshop is non-denominational. While we talk about altars as a way of connecting to the spirit realm, all religious and spiritual beliefs are welcome. You will be encouraged to make an altar that is truly unique to you and your beliefs, however you define them.

I live in a tiny space and have no idea where I will make my altar. Can I still participate?

You can make an altar anywhere: on the floor, on a table, on top of your dresser, even on a shelf. An altar can be as small and simple as your space allows. In addition, altars absolutely do not have to be permanent. I make temporary altars all the time that are on display for as little as two hours. Making a temporary altar can be just as beneficial to making a more permanent one.

What will I need to make my altar?

A space (see above) and any objects that have personal meaning to you. You really don't need much. There is no need to buy anything beforehand. I will provide plenty of suggestions for general categories of objects to incorporate during the workshop.

What if something comes up last minute and I am running late or can't make the workshop?

I have a 48 hour cancellation refund policy. I will record the zoom session and send it to all participants after the workshop, so you will still be able to participate on your own time if you are late or need to cancel last minute.

Are there any materials that come with the workshop?

The workshop comes with a beautiful printable pdf with resources and creative prompts so that you can continue to develop your altar-making practice with confidence.

Do you have any discounted tickets available?

Bring a friend to get $7 off each ticket! This discount is only available if the tickets are purchased together under the same order. Each participants name and email must be listed. Use code FRIENDS at checkout.

Is there something I didn't answer? Send me an email! I'm happy to discuss any questions or concerns with you.
